M.S.Ed. Educational Theory and Practice, Arkansas State University
B.A. History/English Education, Brigham Young University - Idaho
I love teaching at Madison High! This year will be my sixth year as a Bobcat. Four, soon to be five, of my children have graduated from Madison. I believe I learn as much from my students each year as they do from me. I also believe a person never stops learning and growing! One of the biggest challenges I face as an English teacher is helping students realize that the skills they are learning in English class will actually be put into use after high school. Nothing brings me greater satisfaction than to have former students come back to see me, and let me know that they are, in fact, making use of what we learned in English.
When I am not in my classroom, I am a wife, mom of six, and grandmother of five. For me, that means lots of cooking for big family dinners or floating the Buffalo River in Island Park with my crew. I love to read whatever I can get my hands on, work with my horses, and play in the dirt in my yard. I am not originally from Idaho, so when the opportunity presents itself, I head back to my home state of Montana to visit my parents and siblings.
